WebbUCLH is one of only two NHS sites delivering proton beam therapy across the NHS. The proton beam therapy (PBT) department is equipped with Varian ProBeam gantries with advanced imaging packages and robotic couches. Both departments have a dedicated CT scanner and the PBT department also has a dedicated MRI scanner. Webb5 jan. 2024 · A FLASH-enabled Varian ProBeam™ Proton Therapy unit will be used to deliver treatment to the target volume at a dose rate of ≥40 Gy/sec using the plateau (transmission) portion of the proton beam. After treatment, subjects will be assessed for pain response as well as any side-effects of FLASH radiation.
