Golf cart needs choke to start
WebDec 6, 2007 · So I siphoned out all the gas and put new fresh 93 octane gas in it. I then started it, and on full choke it would idle fine (idle fast that is but that's normal on full choke). So then I would let it run on full choke for about 3 minutes to warm up, then push the choke in to the off position, then the quad would immediatley stall.

New head gasket, lapped valves & seat, cleaned head and piston top, new carb & gaskets new fuel pump, spark plug. If I starve it for air it'll start and run without much power. Let it breath and it dies. Frustrated. WebJun 23, 2015 · The golf cart will only run with choke. Here's the sequence of events right before/after it started having issues: Filled with fuel mixed @ 100:1, added about 2 oz of SeaFoam to the full tank. Pure 87 gas - no ethanol. No reason to add the SeaFoam as it was running well - just a preventive measure all my small engines get 2x per year.

While you are at it install a fuel shut off valve. When storing the cart for the winter, shut off the valve and let the motor run til it dies. You will never have carb problems again. Stabilizers only slow the deterioration process.
